NY Republican Club Says "No"
From Ron Paul's blog http://ronpaul2008.typepad.com/ron_paul_2008/2007/09/ny-republican-c.html:
The Metropolitan Republican Club of New York City told us this morning that there was not enough support on its board of directors to allow us to rent space for a fundraising reception.
The reception is scheduled for October 12. We are looking for another location.

Open Letter to Congress re: The "Read the Bills Act"
Congress needs to start reading the laws it passes. Please introduce DownsizeDC.org's "Read the Bills Act." I know you have the power to introduce this legislation on your own, without waiting for anyone else. I urge you to do so. This is a much-needed, common sense reform. I can see no justification for not introducing it. I'm telling my friends about it, and I look forward to hearing that you've introduced it. You can find the text of the legislation here:
http://www.downsizedc.org/rtba_legislation.shtml
9/25/07 Update: Here's the reply I got from Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison:
"Constituent Response From Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
Dear Mr :
Thank you for contacting me regarding the Read the Bills Act. I welcome your thoughts and comments on this issue.
The Read the Bills Act is a legislative proposal created by the organization Downsize DC. This legislation would require all bills to be read aloud in Congress, read by all Congressmen before they are voted upon, and published on the Internet at least 7 days before a vote. Congress would also be required to announce the date they will vote on the bill.
I assure you that in representing the people of Texas, I pay close attention to the legislative agenda and am always well informed about the issues being considered. Serving Texans well requires diligent scrutiny of the implications of each and every vote.
The legislative process in the Senate is complex and making additional requirements to read lengthy bills aloud on the Senate floor, or know the precise voting schedules in advance, could significantly hinder its ability to function practically or efficiently. Legislative texts and relevant information is available through the website www.thomas.gov. The Senate legislative calendar is also available through the website www.senate.gov. Should the Read the Bills Act be introduced in the Senate, you may be certain I will keep your views in mind.
I appreciate hearing from you and hope you will not hesitate to keep in touch on any issue of concern to you.
Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison
Please do not reply to this message. If you have additional comments, send your remarks through Senator Hutchison's website at http://hutchison.senate.gov/. Thank you."
No reply yet from Senator John Cornyn or Congressman Michael McCaul.

Message from Ron Paul
September 20, 2007
Dear friend,
Our American way of life is under attack. And it is up to us to save it.
The world's elites are busy forming a North American Union. If they succeed, as they were in forming the European Union, the good ol' USA will only be a memory. We cannot let that happen.
The UN wants to confiscate our firearms and impose a global tax. The UN elites want to control the oceans with the Law of the Sea Treaty. And they want to use our military to police the world.
Our right to own and use property is fading because bureaucrats and special interests are abusing eminent domain.
Our right to educate our children as we choose is under assault. "No Child Left Behind" is seeing to that. And our right to say "no" to forced mental screening of our school-aged children is nearly gone.
The elites gave us a national ID card. They also gave us the most misnamed legislation in history: The Patriot Act. And these same people are pushing to give amnesty to illegal immigrants and erase our national borders.
Record government debt is putting a burden on our children and grandchildren that is shameful.
Yes. Our American way of life is under attack. And it's understandable that many are concerned, even discouraged, about the kind of country our children and grandchildren will inherit.
But we must never let discouragement become surrender.
One reason I am NOT discouraged is because I know I am not fighting alone. Each day I head out I know that you and thousands of other patriotic, freedom-loving Americans are right beside me, standing brave and true for what is good and right.
I need your help now, more than ever, to save the country we love...for the people we love.
My wife Carol and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary early this year. We are proud parents of five children and 18 grandchildren. We love them very much, as I know you love your family.
As a U.S. congressman, I always think about the well-being of my family and of all the families of our great nation when I cast a vote or introduce legislation. I also remember that I have sworn a solemn oath to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States.
For me, upholding that oath is the first and best way to preserve and protect the blessed American way of life for our children and grandchildren.
And now you know why I'm running for president of the United States.
I ask for your help. Please send your maximum donation today by going to https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/
Sincerely, Ron

The Second Amendment
Folks, here is the Second Amendment to the Unites States Constitution:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
It's not about duck hunting, and what part of shall not be infringed can't they get?

Hasta la vista, PajamasMedia
Well, those Pajamas Media people did it again - they removed the best candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, from their straw poll. And so I have removed them from my blog. Good riddance!
From their website: "Over 130,000 votes have been cast in the weekly PAJAMAS MEDIA PRESIDENTIAL STRAW POLL. The thirty-fifth week has officially begun.
NEW DEAL: Pajamas Media editors have noted that the number of weekly votes in our poll has diminished drastically from the tens of thousands cast at the outset. For months now, many readers have been complaining to us about the increasing inutility of the poll because of vote-swarming by second tier candidates. Many voters have lost interest and are not participating. Websites that had run our widget were no longer doing so.
Something needed to change.
Therefore, especially since the campaign itself appears to be narrowing its focus to front-running candidates, henceforth the Pajamas Media Poll will be restricted to those first tier candidates listed on the front poll page of the leading online poll aggregator Real Clear Politics. As of now, that is four candidates on the Democratic side and five on the Republican. We will change our lineup on the Sunday after RCP does, if it does."
So basically, it's not fair that Ron Paul supporters are more fervent and dedicated than those of the other candidates? Crybabies.

Bogus Election Polls
Below is a link to a bogus election poll. Why is it bogus? Because no matter how many times anyone votes for Ron Paul, he still has only 25 votes. Hmmm.
Remember the 3 types of lies? "Lies, damn lies, and statistics". Caution: the so-called "poll" linked below is probably a data-mining operation, so fill out the forms at your own risk.
http://www.cfourstrategies.com/ACN/p...ntialpoll.html
You can read more of the background on the Ron Paul forums: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=17380
Speaking of bogus election polls, there are a number of polls out there that don't include Ron Paul at all. Reader's Digest, Glenn Beck, and GOPStrawPolls are a few examples of this type of disinformation BS. The PajamasMedia poll which I currently have on my blog used to ignore the good Doctor, and if they do that again I'll take them off my website.
By their fruits you shall know them folks. What can we possibly conclude about anyone who deliberately ignores the only honest* candidate out there?
*this means he actually remains faithful to his oath of office to uphold and defend the Constitution, in case you were wondering.

RON PAUL FIGHTS POWERFUL PLUTOCRACY
RON PAUL FIGHTS POWERFUL PLUTOCRACY
The more support Texas representative gains, the more the global elite are taking notice
By Steven LaTulippe
Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) is gaining steam in his presidential campaign and the establishment is preparing to stop him at any cost. His fundraising statistics reveal a blossoming, Internet-based movement that is uniting libertarians and other concerned citizens from across the political spectrum.
His performance in the media has been sharp, and his organization is honing its message. But if Paul remains a viable candidate, he faces a set of obstacles unlike any other. When evaluating his chances, it’s important to understand contemporary America: This is not a democracy and not a constitutional republic.
America is a carefully concealed oligarchy. A few thousand people, mostly in government, finance, and the military-industrial complex, run this country for their own purposes. By manipulating the two-party system, influencing the mainstream media, and controlling the flow of campaign finance money, this oligarchy works to secure the nomination of its preferred candidates (Democratic and Republican alike), thus giving voters a “choice” between Puppet A and Marionette B.
Unlike the establishment’s candidates, Paul is a freelancer running on specific ideas. The federal government must function within the strict guidelines of the Constitution, should deconstruct its empire, withdraw troops from around the world, reestablish a foreign policy based on noninterventionism, abolish the Federal Reserve Bank, eliminate fiat currency and return to hard money.
This is not a political agenda or party platform. It is a revolution. The entire ruling oligarchy would be swept away if these ideas were implemented. Every sentence, every word, every jot and tittle of this agenda is unacceptable, repellent and hateful to America’s ruling elite.
The reasons for this are obvious. Through its control of the Federal Reserve, the banking elite makes billions of dollars in unearned profits and exerts enormous influence over the American economy. Countless industries and special interest groups (both foreign and domestic) have sprung up around our so-called defense and national security budgets. The bureaucratic elites who dominate the federal government despise the Constitution’s limitations on their power and view the document as just an archaic “piece of paper.”
They will not “walk away” if Paul is elected president. When its authority over the Southern states was challenged in the 19th century, the oligarchy suspended the Constitution and launched a bloody war that killed three quarters of a million people. They arrested newspaper editors, deported antiwar congressmen, and burned down American cities.
A century later, the oligarchy nuked two Japanese cities, killing thousands of civilians in the twinkling of an eye. When its marginal interests were threatened in Southeast Asia, the oligarchy launched a devastating war that killed over a million people and left the region marinating in toxic defoliating chemicals.
To further its interests in the Middle East, the oligarchy slapped horrific sanctions on Iraq that so far have killed 250,000 children (and then trotted out Madeleine Albright—one of Clinton’s blood-stained trolls—to smugly declare that the deaths were “worth it”).
If the oligarchy would behave this way to protect its often marginal interests, what would it do to stop a devastating assault on its very existence?
The attack on Paul will begin in earnest when it appears he has an even remote possibility of winning. It will follow a fairly predictable path: The first step is already in play. The establishment will start by simply ignoring him, by using its power in the mainstream media and their influence over campaign donors. It will try excluding him from debates. This strategy is already failing. The Internet and talk radio are outside the elite’s direct control and are being used effectively by Paul to “get the message out.” Theestablishment will generate ridicule and fear mongering.
Paul’s ideas will be grotesquely distorted in establishment media “hit pieces.” They’ll say he wants to permit heroin use in public schools, or that he wants old people to die in the streets without their Social Security checks, or that he wants to allow greedy industrialists to dump toxic waste into your drinking water.
The next arrow in the oligarchy’s quiver will be scandal—real or fabricated. Usually, this takes the form of pictures, billing records, etc. involving financial or sexual hi-jinks. For these folks, it would be child’s play to implicate him in some sort of phony ethical, moral, or financial skullduggery (doctored pictures, sordid media accounts from “eyewitnesses,” etc.).
If Paul somehow survives this assault, the oligarchy will move on to the criminal justice system. On some fine day, a stretch limo will pull up to the Capitol Building and one of the establishment’s hit men (Jim Baker or maybe Vernon Jordan) will ooze into Paul’s office for a “chat.”
Maybe Paul forgot to fill out Form X109/23W on his 1997 income tax return? Or drained a mud puddle when he built his new house that could be classified as a “wetland”? Or maybe a close relative is in hot water with OSHA/FDA/IRS/youname-it (federal prosecutors love to go after relatives in order to gain “leverage”). Paul’s sentence could be lessened if he agreed to drop his candidacy as part of a “plea bargain.”
Ayn Rand once stated that the hallmark of authoritarian systems is the creation of innumerable, incomprehensible laws. Such systems make everyone an un-indicted felon and allow for the exercise of arbitrary government power via selective prosecution. If all this failed and if Paul remained a threat to win the presidency, the establishment may decide to let him take office and then use their considerable influence to ensure his presidency ended in failure—mostly through their control of Congress, the federal bureaucracy and the mainstream media.
The oligarchy’s problem with this strategy is that it entails considerable risk. As president, Paul could use the powers of the office to inflict untold damage to the imperial structure (especially if he chose to withdraw American troops stationed overseas). Worse, he could appoint anti-tyranny “ideologues” to a variety of positions in the federal government. The damage to the oligarchs could take decades to undo.

Last night I threw together an experiment dish. It was quick and easy and it came out great!
Improvised chili
1 Can unsweetened kernel corn
1 Can ranch-style beans
1 Package Eckrich skinless Polish sausage, sliced up
1/2 onion, diced
1 dried chile pasilla, chile ancho or chile negro cut into strips
1 Tbsp powdered cumin
1 Tbsp dried cilantro
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 bottle beer (I used Spaten Optimator)
1 scoop multri-grain cou-cous mix from Central market
Mixed up all ingredients in a Corning ware casserole and steamed for 1 hour in a large steamer

Got integrity?
Q: What do all the American Presidents, Congressmen, Senators and other Federal employees have in common?
A: They swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.
Q: How many Presidents, Congressmen, Senators and other Federal employees can you name who actually uphold and defend the Constitution?
A: I can only name one - Ron Paul. If a piece of proposed legislation violates the Constitution, he votes against it. He has more honor and integrity than all the other Congressmen and Senators put together.
All the other 2008 Presidential candidates are sock puppets for the oligarchy.

Open letter to New Hampshire Senator Robert Clegg
My response, sent via email (robert.clegg@leg.state.nh.us) :
Mr. Clegg,
Did you actually say, "That guy (Paul) is the most un-American person in this country as far as I’m concerned," in reference to Dr. Ron Paul?
If you actually said that, then those of us who know better can only conclude that you are either abysmally ignorant of the facts, or a liar. Perhaps there's another option I haven't considered yet. Which is it?
Dr. Ron Paul is the ONLY Congressman I can think of who consistently upholds and defends the Constitution at every possible opportunity. How's your track record on the Constitution, Senator? If your track record isn't as good as Dr. Ron Paul's then perhaps you really aren't in any position to question how 'American' Dr. Paul is or isn't.
Extremely skeptical and unimpressed,
me

An Excellent Resource for Giving Sean Hannity a Piece of Your Mind!!

Thu Sep 6, 2007 1:15 pm (PST)
My Fellow Texans, Make use of this excellent resource being provided by Downsize-DC (www.downsizedc. org <http://www.downsize dc.org/> ) to send an email to Sean Hannity, explaining to him in no uncertain terms, your disgust for his deceitful remarks with regards to Dr. Paul's clearwin (33%!!!) in FOX's online poll last night after the debate. MAKESURE and add your own remarks in addition to the default "form letter"at the beginning of the email. Here's the link to this resource:http://action. downsizedc. org/wyc.php? cid=80<http://action. downsizedc. org/wyc.php? cid=80> You'll have to register(I think - I'm already registered with 'em so I'm unsure about that?),but it's well worth it given the importance of this topic. It's freeand easy anyway. Below is a copy of the email I sent - including my own comments therein. The bold portion is the "default" part: ************ ********* ********* ********* ********* ********* ********* ******\**
Dear Mr. Hannity,
You misinformed your audience after the September 5th debate on yournetwork. You told your viewers that Ron Paul supporters were rigging thepost-debate poll by calling in repeatedly, when in truth the system yournetwork uses does not allow repeat phone calls. The truth is that RonPaul won the poll fair-and-square, but you were not fair-and-square,let alone "fair and balanced," in your reporting. Please retract yourfalse statements and acknowledge that Ron Paul really did win the poll.
Please do so during your next national TV broadcast.
My personal comment to you:
As a technology-challeng ed individual who only got a cell-phone a yearago, I'm appalled that you would accuse me of "rigging a vote". I knowfor a fact - as you do too - that only one text-vote per phone isallowed. It's because we REAL Conservative Republican supporters ofDr. Paul are impassioned enough about the first true Statesman to comedown the pike since our nation was founded that we actually BOTHER toaccept the call of duty to vote in such polls; even though we ALSO KNOWthat folks like yourself will almost definitely either mislead your audience as to the outcome (as you have with this one) or even censor usaltogether. As a fellow Republican - a REAL one that is - I'm ASHAMEDOF YOU for using such sick tactics.
I used to watch your show and many others on FOX News (and yes, I evenlike you too Alan!). Y'all there at FOX have fallen into the NeoConAbyss so dismally lately though, that I've altogether removed FOX Newsfrom my Dish-Network Guide (as I had with all the other major network "news" outlets many years ago). This is truly a shame, because REAL Conservatives truly need a venue to present their messages to thepublic.
I'm truly saddened that FOX has become nothing less than a propaganda merchant in the same vein as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS & NBC.
REAL Conservatives are now left with only the internet and a fewperiodicals to assist in spreading their message and I'll NEVER forgivePresident Bush & his NeoCon minions for that! ************ ********* ********* ********* ********With Y'all in Liberty,Ed Boyd

NRA Director Says Five Rounds is Enough
NRA Director Says Five Rounds is Enough
That JPFO and the NRA have different views on "gun control" is no secret; you can read our position -- and view supporting evidence -- at http://www.jpfo.org/alert20061211.htm . You can also read an article on the NRA's recent alignment with gun-prohibitionist Carolyn McCarthy at http://www.jpfo.org/smith-nra.htm .
And now, NRA Director Joaquin Jackson has publically stated that magazine capacities should be limited to five rounds and that "assault weapons [sic] should be limited to military or police." That's right -- a director of the supposedly pro-gun NRA wants to take YOUR semi-automatic rifles away.
Don't believe us? Think it's just a rumor? View the evidence for yourself at http://www.klru.org/texasmonthlytalks/archives/movies/jackson5_44k.mov (we also have it mirrored on the JPFO site at http://www.jpfo.org/joaquin.mov ).
Already the NRA apologists are coming out of the woodwork. Anyone who points out the hypocrisy of Jackson's position are denounced as "wackos", "black helicopter paranoids," and "just trying to make a buck."
It's time to "Humiliate and Repudiate" Joaquin Jackson and the NRA. Go to http://www.jpfo.org/handbill-joaquin.jpg to see our latest handbill. Print it out and distribute it to those who still believe the NRA is working in the interest of gun owners. They are not.
If you value the truth more than betrayal and want an aggressive defense of your natural and Second Amendment rights, visit http://www.jpfo.org/member.htm to learn how you can join JPFO. We encourage you to use our "gun control" destroying books and videos ( http://shop.jpfo.org ) and get on board with us today.

Rick Perry pretends Ron Paul isn't a candidate
Rick Perry disses Ron Paul
Rick Perry, while speaking to the Texas GOP delegates at the first ever Texas GOP Straw Poll, proclaimed "Ladies and Gentlemen, we may not have a Texan on the ballot, but we cannot have another Clinton in the White House."
Wow. Is he that ignorant, or that rude? Here's my response to Governor Rick Perry:
"Are you being rude, or ignorant?
I request you apologize to Ron Paul publicly and immediately, and issue a public correction to your mistake."
Or could it be that he's a Bilderberger?
